2nd-seeded Alexandra Dulgheru loses in Bogota

BOGOTA, Colombia (AP) Second-seeded Alexandra Dulgheru of Romania was knocked out of the first round of the Copa BBVA Colsanitas on Tuesday, losing to Karin Knapp of Italy 6-2, 6-2.
Three other seeded players made better starts at the clay-court tournament.
No. 3 Romina Oprandi of Switzerland defeated Alexandra Cadantu of Romania 6-2, 6-2; No. 5 Gisela Dulko of Argentina defeated Kathrin Woerle of Germany won 1-6, 6-2, 6-4; and No. 7 Lourdes Dominguez Lino of Spain beat Sharon Fichman of Canada 6-2, 6-2.
Edina Gallovits-Hall of Romania downed Julia Cohen of the U.S. 6-4, 6-1, and Hungary's Timea Babos defeated Yuliana Lizarazo of Colombia 6-0, 6-1.
